The Mountain Blend brings together two of Colombia's most compelling varieties — the traditional, reliable Castillo and the extraordinarily exotic Gesha — in a single, meticulously crafted blend that is as rare as it is refined.
Both varieties are sourced directly from Liliana Caballero at Hacienda Casablanca, nestled at 1,550 metres in the Santander highlands. This is honest direct trade — transparent, traceable, and rooted in a genuine long-term relationship with the farmer and the land.
Processed through Extended Fermentation and Washed methods, the beans are carefully selected to preserve clarity and amplify complexity. The result is a cup of striking elegance: caramel sweetness, mandarin citrus, delicate floral notes, and a grounding finish of cocoa — layered, balanced, and endlessly nuanced.
Harvested between October and January and locally roasted in small batches in-house at our Adelaide roastery, the Mountain Blend is dialled on an Omni-Roast (Medium) profile that shines across espresso, long black, macchiato, and filter. It's a blend built for those who know what great coffee can be.
Gesha is one of the world's most sought-after varieties. Finding it blended with Castillo at this quality level is very unique.
